Our Nurses provide care to participants with various disabilities that may encounter unique challenges in airway management.

This includes things such as tracheostomy's, BiPAP/CPAP devices and suctioning. Typically we will assess and train staff in the management of these.

Who Could Benefit?

Do you have a ventilation device?

This might be a:

  • BiPAP machine
  • CPAP machine
  • Any other type of non-invasive ventilation

We help you with these devices by providing customised respiratory support tailored to your specific needs. This may involve documentation and training as required.

Do you have a Tracheostomy?

We have worked with all different kinds of tracheostomy's.

The most common way we help is by training your family and team in suctioning and other management strategies.

We also can assist with skin integrity and dressing management around the stoma site.

Other Airway Support

  • Suctioning - Our Nurses can assist with participants who require suctioning due to excessive secretions in the airway and provide support workers the confidence to perform these tasks through our training sessions
  • Emergency Preparedness - Through our individualised training sessions and thorough Care Support Plans, we can provide support workers, families and participants with confidence during an airway emergency.
